avaf was invited by the Museu de Arte Moderna, São Paulo to create the environment for the museum’s 2012 gala party. This benefitparty was organized by MAM’s group of young collectors Núcleo Contemporâneo and raised funds for the museum’s bi-annual exhibition of Contemporary Brazilian art, Panorama da Arte Brasileira. The immersive installation included a projection-mapped façade on Oscar Niemeyer’s OCA on Ibirapuera park (right next to the São Paulo Biennale building) featuring one of avaf’s kaleidoscopic animations along with interior installations with wall panels and color fluorescent lights, balloons featuring different words in portuguese with the avaf initials, new masks, etc.
